#411 Ian Botham / Clem Burke – 24 November 1955

Ian Botham

Sir Ian Terence Botham, OBE (born 24 November 1955) is a former England Test cricketer and Test team captain, and current cricket commentator. He was a genuine all-rounder with 14 centuries and 383 wickets in Test cricket, and remains well known by his nickname “Beefy”. While a controversial player both on and off the field at times, Botham also held a number of Test cricket records, and still holds the record for the highest number of wickets taken by an England bowler.

Clem Burke (born Clement Anthony Bozewski; November 24, 1955) is an American musician who is the drummer for the band Blondie. Recruited by Chris Stein and Debbie Harry when they were first forming Blondie, Burke remained with the band throughout the first stage of their career and was instrumental in the late 1990s reunion.

(Note. Yet again the internet is divided on the correct year of birth. This time I’m going with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame which says 1955. Clem, if you’re reading this – get in touch.)
