Joni Mitchell, CC (born Roberta Joan Anderson; November 7, 1943) is a Canadian musician, singer songwriter, and painter. In March 1970 Clouds won Joni Mitchell her first Grammy Award for Best Folk Performance. Her third album, Ladies of the Canyon included her own version of “Woodstock” and the environmental anthem “Big Yellow Taxi”, with its now-famous line, “they paved paradise and put up a parking lot.” She has received eight Grammy Awards during her career, the most recent in 2008. She received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002, with the citation describing her as “one of the most important female recording artists of the rock era”.

His film credits include: The Eagle Has Landed, A Bridge Too Far, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Braveheart, Tomorrow Never Dies, Gangs of New York, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. TV credits include: Z-Cars; Secret Army; Tales of the Unexpected; The Professionals; Smiley’s People; Yes, Prime Minister; Between The Lines; Sharpe; and Waking the Dead. He starred in Coronation Street, as Gail Platt’s long lost father.
