Ralph Steadman (born 15 May 1936) is a British cartoonist renowned for his political and social caricatures, cartoons and picture books. Best known for his work with American author Hunter S. Thompson. He designed a set of four British postage stamps to commemorate the appearance of Halley’s Comet in 1985.

Wavy Gravy (born Hugh Nanton Romney) (born May 15, 1936) is an American entertainer and activist for peace, best known for his hippie appearance, personality and beliefs. His name was given to him by B.B. King at the Texas International Pop Festival in 1969.
